Choctaw Casino Opening Back Up
The $247 million Choctaw Casino & Resort will include a premier gaming facility, luxury 4-Diamond hotel with spa and fitness center, outdoor amphitheater, conference/multi- purpose venue, three restaurants including a sports book, an entertainment bar, retail shop, and resort pool. The proposed casino will be located on the west side of Alaskan Trail just north of Hob Nob Road in Pope County. The project is expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs, and the estimated timeline for completion is 18-24 months.
Choctaw Casino Opens When
Members of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians are descendants of Choctaw individuals who refused to leave and relocate to Oklahoma. Nevertheless, life has since changed over the past 150 years on the reservation. On July 1, 1994, the Pearl River Casino Resort opened its doors. The Choctaw Casino in Durant is reopening Wednesday after more than two months of being closed. Starting Wednesday at 10 a.m., the casino will be open at reduced capacity.
